Wuhan green school: floor-level quotas and rooftop solar
Energy portraits and target management for campuses—classroom and building benchmarks with measurable, reviewable savings.
22% annual electricity saved
15% self-generation share
480 tCO₂e avoided / yr
Provincial green-school recognition
Context
The campus spans teaching, lab, library, and dorm buildings (~6 GWh/yr). Performance varied widely with no common baseline or accountability.
Approach
Floor-level metering and a portrait + target platform created baselines, quota reviews, and optimization cycles per building. Rooftop PV raised on-site renewable share; public lighting was upgraded with controls.
Scope
Metering: 8 teaching buildings, 3 labs, library, 6 dorms
Portraits: classroom/building benchmarks
Solar: 350 kWp on dorm and gym roofs
Lighting: LED + occupancy in common areas
Outcomes
Layered benchmarking and self-consumption delivered strong savings and education value.
